LV-426 is one of the many procedurally-generated planets in the universe of No Man's Sky before the change of the generation seed.
LV-426 is an Earth-like planet with blue skies, white clouds, green grass and an abundance of water. LV-426 seems to be inhabited, as evidenced by the presence of structures scattered across the surface, including what seems to be an early version of the Trade Outpost.

LV-426 is also the name of the main planet in the iconic Sci-Fi movie Aliens. It appears to be a conscious decision on behalf of the developers.
