Usnusven II is a planet.

Summary[ | ]

Usnusven II is one of the many procedurally-generated planets in the universe of No Man's Sky before the change of the generation seed.

Usnusven II is a desert planet. Populated by decaying flora and what seems like a massive sand worm, it has a giant floating planet tidally locked but obscured by the ever-present sandstorms on its planet surface. This planet was one of the first to be revealed, in the No Man's Sky announcement trailer in December 2013. There are two other planets with the same name, but likely a different seed.

Planet type[ | ]

The desert-biome variant of the planet is most frequently shown, but there is also a variant with arid shrublands, and one with bright yellow grass and mysterious structures that likely were cut from the final release.

Flora[ | ]

Usnusven II is home to a number of species of decaying thorns and grass types. The variant with an arid shrubland biome also has dead trees sparsely scattered over its surface.

Fauna[ | ]

The desert-biome variant of the planet appears to be inhabited by massive sand worms, similar (though not identical) to the Shaihuluda genus creatures introduced in the Origins update. The other two variants have no visible fauna.

Similar banners on Usnusven and Teogicia

The circle-and-banner are also found on Teogicia. This could be a territorial marker for a faction. Of the three banners seen on Teogicia, one is identical to the one on Usnusven II, while the other two are matches of each other.
